Larger than life. The Billboard Liberation Front tells us how and why it was done, but I suppose it is not a difficult guess. Ted Rheingold shows even more of the art project but unfortunately the link to the entire picture set is broken.

[english] Let’s face it. We do not really detest CCTV surveillance. We are just envious of those who can watch others. But not anymore. With a small Google hack everybody can join the vojeuristic video surveillance club. I prefer the camera at this asian dog barber. I just wonder why it is called “PenisWart”…

With the proliferation of RFID devices and related privacy concerns, it seemed due time to create the RFID Blocking Duct Tape Wallet. There are many ways to prevent Radio Frequency ID tags from being transmitted from devices. I often use my work badge and school ID which both contain RFID tags. With drivers licenses, credit cards, and cash now beginning to contain RFID tags, why not create the wallet.
It seemed to be pretty well known online that aluminum foil prevented the transmission of RFID signals. A quick test at my work place using my badge confirmed this. The next step was to design a wallet with aluminum foil embedded inside. Using the plans to make Duct Tape Wallets I created previously, it was simple to modify them to include the aluminum foil.

What is the ID SNIPER rifle?
It is used to implant a GPS-microchip in the body of a human being, using a high powered sniper rifle as the long distance injector. The microchip will enter the body and stay there, causing no internal damage, and only a very small amount of physical pain to the target. It will feel like a mosquito-bite lasting a fraction of a second. At the same time a digital camcorder with a zoom-lense fitted within the scope will take a high-resolution picture of the target. This picture will be stored on a memory card for later image-analysis.
Mehr Infos.
Dank an Dirk.

While there already is a good amount of reasoning and empirical research on reality TV and some also on webcams, the third increasingly important way of creating and circulating images remains more or less under-researched until now, namely, the mobile phones with cameras. The increase in the amount of camera phones is likely to crucially change the role of visual representations. Finland provides a good example of this. Already, almost every adult Finn (and many children as well) carries a mobile phone (Kopomaa, 2000). Each phone approximately lasts between two or three years, and many of the new models have a camera installed in them. This will mean that within a couple of years almost everyone will carry a camera. What kind of images will become popular, what uses will they have, and where they will be circulated, remains unanswered. Although camera phones do not literally form a surveillance system, they can create a condition, which is reminiscent of surveillance.

Blogs get people excited. Or else they disturb and worry them. Some people distrust them. Others see them as the vanguard of a new information revolution. Because they allow and encourage ordinary people to speak up, they’re tremendous tools of freedom of expression.
Bloggers are often the only real journalists in countries where the mainstream media is censored or under pressure. Only they provide independent news, at the risk of displeasing the government and sometimes courting arrest.
Reporters Without Borders has produced this handbook to help them, with handy tips and technical advice on how to to remain anonymous and to get round censorship, by choosing the most suitable method for each situation. It also explains how to set up and make the most of a blog, to publicise it (getting it picked up efficiently by search-engines) and to establish its credibility through observing basic ethical and journalistic principles.

When you require an especially deft touch, use the surveillance mode to automatically capture images at preset intervals up to 90 minutes apart, spanning up to nineteen days! Of course, you can also capture video clips with sound, so you can record that elusive piece of evidence wherever you may find it.

Ach was, unsere Stockwerknachbarn.
